Hans Wegner (1914-- 2007）出生于丹麥，畢業(yè)于哥本哈根工藝美術(shù)學(xué)校，是丹麥乃至世界上20世紀(jì)最偉大的家具設(shè)計(jì)師之一。他與其他丹麥家具設(shè)計(jì)師一樣，本身就是手藝高超的細(xì)木工，因而對家具的材料、質(zhì)感、結(jié)構(gòu)和工藝有深入的了解。這正是他成功的基礎(chǔ)。Hans Wegner 早年潛心研究中國家具，1945年設(shè)計(jì)的系列"中國椅"就吸取了中國明代椅的精華，1947年他設(shè)計(jì)的"孔雀椅"被放置在聯(lián)合國大廈。Hans Wegner 是一位不知疲倦的設(shè)計(jì)師，一生作品累累。他在1959年被倫敦皇家藝術(shù)協(xié)會授予皇家工業(yè)設(shè)計(jì)師榮譽(yù)稱號。

When Finn Juhl first saw this chair, he immediately noticed its characteristic back and named it the Peacock Chair - a name that stuck with the chair.

Despite the chair’s almost postmodern design, it was actually designed back in 1947. However, its deliberately modern lines are not merely a question of looks. Rather, the sweeping back with its extravagantly shaped sticks is the mark of ergonomic aesthetics. The stick’s flat part, which gives the chair its peacock-like appearance, is located exactly where the shoulder blades rest against the chair’s back.

The Peacock Chair is historically anchored in the classic British Windsor Chair. As were the case with many of his early works, Wegner updated his sources of inspiration to a modern version while adding sophisticated details that required the greatest accuracy from highly skilled craftsmen.

pp550 comes with a papercord seat in nature.

Despite the chair's almost postmodern design, it was actually designed in 1947, and was named the Peacock chair by Finn Juhl. Its consciously modern lines are not only a matter of looks but also a feat of ergonomic aesthetics. The flat part of the sticks, which give it the peacock like appearance, are placed where the shoulder blades meet the chair's back. The chair has historical inspiration - from the classic Windsor chair. 

Frame in ash with papercord seat, the chair is available in the following finishes: soaptreated, clear bio oil, white bio oil or lacquered.
